all the gmars of yom kippurs past

i guess the guy from my last relationship forgot to delete my number from his phone. Last week before yom kippur began, I got a gmar chatima tova. It was probably an sms that he sent to everyone on his contact list.

He could have been trying to be nice. That's a nice thing.

you think? I think he accidentally sent the message. it's random. unless leading up to yom kippur he suddenly felt kindness towards me. doubt it.

i thought for a moment that maybe he needed to send it to feel like he's atoning before yom kippur but i doubt that too.

he's definitely not nice, although he wants it to look that way and is quite good at pretending to people who don't know him well. i know him too well and that precludes me.

if he sent it to me directly and not as a group sms, then someone else probably prompted him to do it or he did it begrudgingly.

i think it was an accidental group sms.

rather, i'm going to believe it was an accidental group sms

It could be atonement or a accidental sms. The important thing is not to internalize this too much. You will drive yourself crazy. Run-ins and such things like this may happen again. you need not feel threatened by them.

i still miss him. it sucks. i must be nuts.

although I'm excellent at avoiding run ins.

Missing is allowed. It happens. But the impact of things like this will be less severe over time. It's still rather soon.

i know he meant what he sent. he wouldn't have sent it otherwise.

There you go. It was a very important day. These things should be seen as a positive.
